Lily Shannon-Sutter

As a Chinese-American adoptee and filmmaker, the stories Lily is called to tell often explore the themes of identity and belonging. Growing up in Oakland, CA, Lily was raised around the beauty of diverse cultures and environments, leading her to insights and profound questions about home and resiliency.
Lily’s goal is to use the film medium as both a means of self-reflection and to create collective conversations that explore and illuminate our shared humanity. She is extremely hardworking, organized, and loves collaborating with fellow artists.
As a confident editor, Lily is Avid Media Composer Certified and is proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro.
She has experience editing documentaries, fiction narratives, music videos, sound, archival footage, and text/ motion graphics.
Most recently, Lily was a 2025 PG&E/ BAVC Media Better Together Editing Fellow.
Lily is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University with a B.A. in Film and Television Production.
